ADVEnTURE PJ WALSH TEAM CHALLEnGE BREAKING LIMITS 2015–2017 Adventure Team Challenge Colorado 2016 Face of America Navy veteran PJ Walsh is not someone to shy away from challenges. Walsh accepted an invitation to compete in NBC Television’s American Ninja Warrior in support of military veterans, but a rolling log abruptly ended his participation before a national television audience. During his five years as a Navy field medic, Walsh provided dental care to members of the nation’s executive branch, including President Bill Clinton and his family. Encouraged by colleagues to pursue stand-up comedy after returning to civilian life, Walsh performed at numerous clubs. He built his craft, though, through two years in theater school. Afterwards, he performed regularly for military personal in the United States and abroad, following the tradition of entertainers like Bob Hope. JUNE 8–9 NEW Team YORK Walsh joined World T.E.A.M.’s 2015 Adventure Challenge Colorado. Held in the high Gore Range, he was immediately hooked. Walsh has returned in 2016 and 2017, participating with the winning team in 2016. That year, he also rode Face of America Gettysburg and provided the keynote speech at Friday’s reception. SEPTEMBER 9 WASHINGTON, D.C. SEPTEMBER 15–17 COLORADO Feeling fortunate to support military veterans, Walsh takes his participation at World T.E.A.M. seriously. Competing alongside adaptive athletes, he recognizes the contribution everyone makes to a team’s success. 16
