Founded in 1993 , AIS has over 500 students ( ages 3-18 ) representing 39 different nationalities ( 16 % American ). The school serves children of diplomats , businessmen , NGOs , and local families ( 40 %). As an Englishspeaking American school , AIS stresses critical thinking skills in the context of core classes – including reading , writing , mathematics , science , and cultural studies . Classes are taught by certified teachers from the US , UK , Canada , and Australia . As an AP Capstone School , our diplomas are recognized around the world .
