EXPERT OPINION
women who have problems with their
own oocytes. Usually, these are older
women, and in this case we can use this
bank.
I would like to discuss another problem
– the so-called cryopreservation. A
large number of women are engaged
in a career and postpone the birth
of children or marriage until a later
time. When they decide they want to
have children, as a rule it is too late.
In this sense, it would be beneficial for
a woman not who hasn’t had children
by the age of 35 to donate her eggs
to cryopreservation and so that she
could use them at the age of 42-45.
Otherwise, when a woman wants to get
pregnant in her 40s, this might be quite
difficult.
Back to the Persona Center, kindly,
share about the features of the
Center, your services and doctors.
The Persona Center is a special center.
The people who share our philosophy in
fertility treatment come to us. We call
the center ‘Persona’ precisely because
we are guided by the personified
medicine principle. The genetic
diagnosis is a manifestation of this
personified approach leveraging many
years of specified experiences
For example, Sholpan Karibayeva, the
Deputy Director of the clinic, a doctor
who annually conducts at least 600 IVF
programs.
Ravil Valiyev, the Chief Doctor of the
clinic, used to be the Head of the
Clinic on Obstetrics, Gynecology and
perinatology, with more than 10 years
of experience in RT. He conducts at
least 300 RT programs annually.
Tatyana Kopylova made the first IVF
program in 1995, and she is related to
birth of the first IVF child in Kazakhstan.
Today she works in our clinic – a doctor
44
world monitor
with more than 20 years of experience,
serving a large number of patients.
Our experience allows us to be more
personalized with patients. I think
that physicians having at least five
years of experience can speak about a
personified approach in RT. Certainly,
personal experience and intuition play a
huge role.
It is important that we provide
psychological support to couples.
We have a qualified psychotherapist
who works with patients. Qualitative
psychological preparation improves the
psycho-emotional state and results of
treatment.
Tatyana Kossenko works in our clinic.
She is a well-known endocrinologist,
the associate professor of the
endocrinology department at the
Institute of Postgraduate Education,
and she has more than 40 years of
experience. She is a major specialist in
neuro-endocrinology.
There are such specialists as Yulia
Tugay in our center who studied
in Korea. She knows ultrasound
diagnostics methods. We have one
of the most advanced ultrasound
scanners in the city – the 4D machine
Samsung that allows diagnosing any
pathology in early stages. This expert
class apparatus is used successfully in
reproductive medicine.
Anastassiya Rybina has been the
RT doctor for more than five years.
Previously, she worked for the Institute
of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
This team of specialists allows us to
evaluate the causes of infertility and
choose the right method of treatment.
We pay a great attention to the
andrology. Yuriy Lavrov, Ph.D., one of
the first andrologists in Kazakhstan
works in the Persona Center. Previously,
he worked for the National Urology
Center named after Academician
Dzharbussynov. Today we engage not
only in andrology and reproductive
andrology with him, but also we deal
with men’s health, intending to help
older men and support them during the
andropause, while preventing diseases
associated with deficiency of sex
hormones.
In our center, we have a high-quality
medical diagnostic laboratory. We do
a cryo-type, prepare genetic studies
and, as I have already mentioned,
provide pre-implantation diagnosis
(an advanced method that allows
assessment of 46 chromosomes in an
embryo).
You have described the possibilities
of advanced ultrasound equipment
that you have in your center.
What other equipment is there in
Persona?
A clinic’s level is determined primarily
by the level of specialists working there.
All specialists in our clinic, in my opinion,
must speak English, and the official
language, Russian, as we participate in
international forums. Foreign patients
come to us from all over the world. Our
center works just once a year, but we
have patients from Israel, Turkey, South
Korea, Australia, USA and Spain. In such
a short period, the patients from these
countries have been treated here.
Regarding our equipment, each room
is equipped with a modern ultrasound
scanner. Six reproductologists work
here, and there are six ultrasound
scanners accordingly. One scanner is of
the expert class – a Samsung 4D. The
equipment in the embryology laboratory
has everything necessary for ICSI,
laser hatching, genetic diagnosis and
cryo-preservation. We have a large bank
