without any preparatory sketches
allowed the work to be open to many
other influences from painting.”
Even though Molder work sometimes
features urban scenes or interiors,
the human face or its depiction is
undoubtedly its main focal point. She
is especially interested in the idea of
recognition, and also in the possibility
that the various portraits in Molder’s
series (which all deal with such
contemporary issues as the notion of
copy, icons from popular culture and
continuing a tradition or breaking
with it) may act as a mirror for the
viewer.
