THE REGISTRATION TO XVI EURASIAN
MEDIA FORUM IS OPEN
The sixteenth Eurasian Media Forum, an international
communication plat-form established in 2002, uniting more
than 500 delegates from 60 countries, will take place from 22
to 24 May in Almaty at the Ritz-Carlton hotel.
The XVI Eurasian Media Forum is held under the motto “The
World Today: Transforming of Reality?” The upcoming Eurasian
Media Forum will discuss a number of topical issues of global and
regional scale, including issues related to the emerging process
of de-globalization, the deepening consumption crisis, as well as
problems of international law and challenges associated with
the expanding use of artificial intelligence.
The Forum program will also include professional media related
topics such as the future of journalism in the digital world and
the growing influence of the blogosphere.
The main mission of the Eurasian Media Forum is to create
conditions for a free and open dialogue among politicians,
journalists and experts on the key issues of the geopolitical,
economic, socio-cultural development of the entire international
community.
Throughout the history of the Forum, more than 6,000
foreign partici-pants visited Kazakhstan, including politicians,
economists, political scientists, Nobel laureates, public figures,
scholars and entrepreneurs.
Over the years, among the most notable EAMF speakers
were ex-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad
Khatami, 12th President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, American
diplomats Richard Holbrook and Richard Perl, former US
Congressman, Chairman of the Democratic Govern-ing Council,

Harold Ford, ex-British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw , ex-
Minister of Tourism of Greece and Member of Parliament Olga
Kefaloyanni, British futurist Ray Hammond, famous journalists
Peter Lavel, Paula Slier, Stephen Cole, Nick Gowing, former

political scientist Zbigniew Brzezinski, OSCE Representative
on Freedom of the Media Harlem Dezir, head of the foreign

consultant, key adviser of both election campaigns of President
Barack Obama, Roger Fisk, BBC TV news editor, Emmy Award
winner Gavin Hewitt, producer, director, Oscar nominee Yevgeny
Afineevsky and others.
The scale and international level of the event allows Kazakhstan
to pro-vide a neutral platform for discussion of the most pressing
issues of today’s reality. The idea of holding the Forum found
wide support among leading in-ternational media - more than
1,500 representatives of influential world media took part in
EAMF, including Euronews, CNN, BBC, Associated Press Televi-
sion News, Reuters, Bloomberg, New York Times, Al Jazeera
English, Russia Today, Channel One, IA Cihan, etc.
The general partner of the XVI Eurasian Media Forum is
“Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.
