EXPO 2017 : the largest image project in Astana
EXPO 2017 is the largest image project planned in Astana . What do you expect in terms of attracting investors and investment prospects for the Republic of Kazakhstan ? As international practice shows , for the host country the EXPO exhibition is a unique opportunity to transfer to a qualitatively new level of economic development , leading to active innovation and investment development .
Usually this event attracts the attention of large numbers of people from all over the world , including potential investors . Kazakhstan is not an exception in this context : over two million people plan to visit our country within 90 days . We also expect that many foreign investors will visit the exhibition . EXPO 2017 is a unique option to express ourselves , to show our abilities , advantages and potential to the international community .
Currently , in our country the most attractive and favorable conditions are created for foreign investors . Among them , the Investor Service Center ( hereinafter – the ISC ) is established , since an important aspect of working with investors is to support them at all stages of an investment project , from negotiation to the final result in the form of an implemented project .
The ISC tasks include working directly with foreign investors , providing operational support for them and direct communication with clients – obtaining primary documents , required contacts and other information to start the project promotion , as well as ensuring the prompt and correct response to appeals of foreign investors in place . Within the EXPO , ISC will work on informing investors of investment potential and opportunities available in Astana , providing service support , information and analytical support , and integrating government support instruments .
To date , mechanisms for attracting alternative finance sources are developed . We provide financing facilities for construction of exhibition sites , such as the lease of a land plot by an investor with the option to buy ; sale of a land plot to an investor as a collateral for the conclusion of an investment contract ; co-financing facilities under construction . At this moment , the preliminary volume of direct private investments , including construction projects of hotels , residential real estate and other facilities , is more than one billion US dollars .
During the exhibition , EXPO 2017 , it is also important to emphasize the development of Kazakhstan ’ s tourist potential . For this purpose , we looked at how to attract foreign as well as Kazakhstan ’ s largest travel operators and agencies .. We will provide tourists with a wide range of goods and services . In particular , now we are working out the issues of tours to the following destinations : the Baikonur Cosmodrome , Borovoe , Charyn Canyon , Shymbulak , Lake Alakol , and the Great Silk Way .
