Based on the management direction , ongoing work is being accomplished with staff on planning activities and summarizing working results .
The big role in team work is played by the Senate – a self-governing authority in the company , where six employees are chosen annually by secret ballot by the staff . The Senate represents employees ’ interests and organizes leisure and team work . The Senate ’ s work is implemented in six directions : innovation , teambuilding , education , interests , integration and culture .
Regarding environmental protection , the company is very responsible in managing its resources ; committed to water and energy conservation ; wastepaper is rendered to processing and utilization . The electronic flow of documents is systemized in the company , allowing minimal use of natural resources . We also launched the social activity – ‘ Kommesk Omir for the clean city !’ – surprising our clients ( car owners ) with useful souvenirs , such as eco-containers for small trash / waste , motivating them to keep garbage off the streets of our cities .
маrк : We need to have a common understanding with this and know how to respond . If we don ’ t demonstrate an interest in these issues , we will lose people . On that basis the following enters my mind . In a developing market , it is much more difficult to play with and embrace these kind of ideas as much as in an amateur market .

In Kazakhstan , though , we go from boom to bust . There is a much more volatile environment of how we perform or how many people we need .

маrк : I work in an environment where we have extremely busy times and then extremely quiet times as well . The audit business is very cyclical . In an audit culture , there is an expectation that people work extra hours during the busy season . So , during the quiet times , we understand that we need to offer people more flexibility in terms of working hours , vacation time , and personal unpaid leave . It ’ s up to person ’ s individual situation in terms of what he / she wants to do . So , we need to be more flexible when it comes to working hours . But there are just certain times of the year when everyone needs to be at work . charity and social responsibility , just giving people / organizations some money rather than our time . But now people understand the value of donating time , because there is more personal connection and investment in it , and the Millennials , in particular , understand this viewpoint better than most . Time committed is more valuable than finances committed . Therefore , we had to re-evaluate and adjust the style of how we come and do that .
Let ’ s talk about work / life balance . What does that mean to you , and to what extent are you trying to model behavior for the rest of the company ?
The same goes for transaction business . When transactions are happening , people work long hours , but when there are no transactions , it should be a balanced day . In our cyclical scheduling , we need to be flexible in our expectations of people during quiet periods . Getting a pure work and life balance is very challenging during heavy work load periods , but over the course of the year we ensure that people have opportunity to spend time with their families . And our standard rule is that when people are on vacation , they should be on vacation , not at work .
