Life style
Why?
Taste!
That's why.
To capture the heart of every whiskey lover is a nearly
impossible task in today’s over-abundance of trendy flavors
and varieties. But Jameson has been doing exactly that since
1780.
In 1780, a Scot by birth, but Irish in spirit, John Jameson founded
his whiskey production in the center of Dublin. From the very
beginning, all the processes at the distillery were distinguished
by technological innovations. The main task was to obtain a
soft and consistent taste from year to year. Jameson was a
pioneer in the triple distillation technology, which subsequently
became traditional for Irish whiskey. It took Jameson only thirty
years to become the best-selling whiskey in Ireland, which at
that time was the world leader in production for this famous
“water of life”. A fearless experimentation and commitment
to tradition in producing his whiskey made Jameson the most
popular Irishman of the time.
Jameson isn’t bound by tradition though. Sine Metu а Jameson
motto, which means Without Fear. That is why, in 2013,
the New Midleton distillery’s master cooper, went on an
experiment by ageing the whiskey in beer barrels. Yes, you
heard that right, aged in dark stout beer barrels. The result
exceeded all expectations. Whiskey Jameson Caskmates Stout
Edition acquired notes of coffee and cream, burnt hops and
chocolate. The collaboration of whiskey production traditions
and the developing craft beer industry fully reflects the values
that we want to convey to our consumers.

But the story continues, and in 2018 we presented the world
another new product from the Jameson Caskmates range,
using the fastest growing craft beer type – Irish Pale Ale (IPA).
Irish Pale Ale is rich in notes of fresh hops, a flowering garden
and a scattering of citrus aromas. And our Jameson Caskmates
IPA Edition burst onto the market as its aroma spread from
glass to glass.
At first glance, this is admittedly a rather unusual combination
of strong spirits and beer. But if you look at the raw materials,
then everything makes sense. For the production Jameson
range we use barley, which grows within a radius of two
hundred kilometers around the New Midleton distillery. The
production of craft beer we recommend drinking in conjunction
with our Jameson Caskmates grows in this same area, which
is why Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition in a duet with the
Irish Pale Ale complement each other so well, releasing their
pleasant hop and citrus notes with every sip.
Besides beer in the summer, try 'what Jameson Caskmates IPA Edi-
tion offers! In combination with tonics, soda and citrus lemonades,
it creates an ideal duet for the upcoming summer season.
This collaboration happened and Jameson Caskmates was
released as a result of talent of a Jameson’s Master Cooper.
The traditions of the founder's father, John Jameson, and his
desire to create new flavors are reflected in the production of
the modern Jameson. Why? Taste! That's why.
