Ukrainian artist Aljoscha creates strangely organic sculptures , paintings and drawings whose inspiration derives from his interest in biology , bioengineering and gene technology . Being fascinated by the essence and function of organic forms , he manages to apply their values and characteristics into complex and sensual works of art beyond any conventional categorisation . His procedure of creation involves the use of thick acrylic paint , which is delicately built up in detail , milligram by milligram , sometimes over a large period of time , until the final shape is completed . This eventual version is not pre-planned . On the contrary it advances on its own as if handling and manipulating the course of life and orders of destiny by itself , even when firstly emerging to the world .
Aljoscha refers to his works as ' Bioisms ', thus underlining their vital nature and organic source . For him these works are living beings . For that reason , he attempts to reinforce them by according generous dosages of dynamism , pulse and complexity . According to Aljoscha ' s utopian theory of ' Biofuturism ', a biological revolution will definitely happen in the future , thus allowing mankind to produce organic furniture and means of transport , while also living in houses that are biological creatures . The artist ’ s studio will progress to a space reminiscent of a scientific lab , where the artist will create artworks comprised of living substances and organic materials , therefore inventing new forms of life . The artist lives and works in Düsseldorf , Germany .
