The 2nd international Renewable Energy Summit has ended in Astana June 8, Astana hosted the Summit on Renewable Energy Sources, organized by the Renewable Energy Association of Kazakhstan jointly with the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy Foundation with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by the Ministry of Energy. More than 20 Kazakhstan and foreign speakers from Germany, Italy, China, South Korea, India, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, Azerbaijan presented their reports and opinions at the event. More than 300 delegates from 20 countries took part in the summit. As a result of the Summit, a Declaration was adopted. It contains a proposal to develop and start implementing the first state program for the development of the renewable energy industry. The Declaration will solve the most important problems and develop new mechanisms, aimed to create all the necessary conditions for the sustainable development of green energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The start of the summit was given by the ecological action "Green Economy in the Green Capital" with the participation of Shell, within the framework of which the guests planted 10 seedlings near world monitor the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The official part was opened by the General Director of the Renewable Energy Association of Kazakhstan Arman Kashkinbekov. He expressed gratitude to participants, partners and speakers of the project, among them - statesmen, entrepreneurs, Nobel laureates, representatives of the media industry and doctors of sciences. The head of the Association drew attention to the fact that in Kazakhstan there is a concept of transition to a "green" economy, summits and forums are being held, but a single document for the development of the industry has not yet been developed. Rapil Zhoshybaev, head of the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIC) noted that according to the UN Global Renewable Energy Report, last year a record $ 279 billion was invested in RES in the world. Mr. Zhoshybayev spoke about the broad possibilities of IGTIC, allowing to solve the tasks of transformation of the energy sector, transfer and adaptation of "green" technologies and development of renewable energy sources. The Kazakhstan’s Center can become a necessary supporting structure in Central Asia to form a bridge between Europe and Asia providing access to the most modern technologies of these countries. As Rapil Zhoshybayev noted representatives of the business circles of the advanced countries stressed their interest in the emergence of a single operator in Kazakhstan providing legal and technical support to potential investors and business projects. Also, the head of IGTIC reported on the opening of the Green Bridge Institute in Kazakhstan, whose task is to study the problems and further introduction of the objects of "green" energy. Vice President and Chairman of Shell in Kazakhstan Olivier Lazar spoke about the possibility of investing in projects of solar and wind power stations in Kazakhstan. According to the representative of Shell, Kazakhstan is taking active steps towards a new energy future and making significant efforts to develop renewable energy sources in the country, having for this all the data. In addition, Lazar said that soon the capital "Nazarbayev intellectual schools" will equip with solar panels. All speakers expressed unanimous opinion that Kazakhstan due to its ideal location has all the prerequisites for becoming one of the leaders of the renewable energy industry not only in Central Asia, but throughout the world.
