can the EUROBAK Digital Commit-
tee do in this direction?
In the framework of digital there are
several projects. First, at the state level,
digital is singled out in a separate area
and there is a ministry that oversees it.
There are people in the government who
are assigned to this topic. There are
various programmes, but I would like
to tell you about those companies that
are the drivers of economic growth in
Kazakhstan. Each of these companies
is at the stage of developing the so-
called Digital Strategy, that is, they are
looking for themselves at the digital
world. What should they implement to
survive tomorrow?
In principle, when we are talking about
digitalisation, in fact now companies
in Kazakhstan are looking for ways
out, how to become competitive in
the digital world. Throughout this
work, the concept of cybersecurity

is added. We hear that cybersecurity
laws are being passed around the
world. As an example, a law has been
passed in Europe called General Data
Protection Rules (GDPR). According
to this law, those companies that will
disclose any information, in particular,
personal customer data, will be fined
a significant amount, up to several
tens of millions of euros. In order for
this not to happen, it is necessary that
all European companies, as well as
those companies that interact with
European businesses, are already
thinking about how to build a security
and data security system.
We also know that hacker attacks
have a strong negative effect, and
such a thing as cyber espionage can
take place. For example, the US is now
blaming China for stealing technology
and innovation information for more
than a trillion dollars. The banking
sector of Kazakhstan is periodically
subjected to cyber-attacks, there-
fore, for these purposes there is the
state programme ‘Cybershield of Ka-
zakhstan’, which involves the active
participation of various stakeholders.
We see that on the part of EUROBAK
we could help with an explanation of
the effectiveness of the GDPR law,
share cybersecurity knowledge and, in
general, discuss how to approach the
process of safe data accumulation.
In addition, there are companies that
are developing digital strategies.
Digital Strategy is an important
element that helps companies find
their place in the competitive world.
Now, in addition to helping to form a
vision, these companies need reliable
partners and turnkey solutions.
All plans written down on paper,
should be implemented into life. We
have a ready-made set of unique,
understandable and tested tools,
products and offers that we can
share with companies in the Republic
