EXTRAORDINARY TEACHERS Crofton House teachers are paid above
the salary grid for public school teachers
in Vancouver. In addition, the School
contributes to the Registered Retirement
Savings Program for teaching and non-
teaching staff, and a new and comprehensive
teacher evaluation process and professional
growth plan is now in place.
Objective:
• Attract, develop, retain and recognize
extraordinary teachers.
Strategies:

• Develop a teacher profile that articulates
the skills, knowledge, habits of mind,
and aptitudes of a Crofton House School
teacher.
• Develop and implement a complementary
professional growth program
Furthermore, as an expression of Crofton
House’s desire to contribute to the profession
as a leader in girls’ education, the School
funds the Research Chair in Teaching and
Learning. This provides teachers in the Junior
and Senior Schools the opportunity to pursue
active, progressive research.
