ORGANIZATIONAL NEWS Tom Kosin (Glendale, AZ) Coffee Table arizona fine woodworkers Mary Berti (Tempe, AZ) Rustic Cherry Clothes Hamper The Arizona Association of Fine Woodworkers hosted their 9th annual Excellence in Woodworking member show last February, in conjunction with the 23rd annual Desert Woodcarving Show & Sale. Both events attracted a paid attendance of 2,000. Best of Show was presented to Tom Kosin of Glendale for his Coffee Table, and Karel Armstrong of Prescott Valley was voted People’s Choice for his Turned Carved Bowl. Best Finish went to Mary Berti of Tempe for her Rustic Cherry Clothes Hamper. First Place winners were: Master Division—Mike Berkshire (Furniture), Chuck Fultz (Scrollsaw), Rick Reiss (Art), and Loren Wittman (Turning); Professional—Jill Walterbach (Scrollsaw) and Leland Neufeld (Toys); Advanced—Doug Neff (Furniture) and Vern Oleksyn (Turning); and Novice—John Corrado (Turning) and Eugene Salazar (Furniture).
