SIXTH FORM Sixth Formers at the University of Birmingham Open Day ON FRIDAY 21st June, our Sixth Formers visited the University of Birmingham Open Day. Over the duration of the day, students attended a programme of different events, including: subject seminars, student accommodation tours, talks on ‘tips for applicants’ and a tour of the Student Guild. The day provided students with an opportunity to gather lots of information and to sample what life would be like attending one of the country’s most prestigious and wellestablished Universities. Over the next few months, the majority of our Sixth Formers will be busy deciding and applying for their desired University courses. Attending the University of Birmingham Open Day is just one small part of our programme of support for students in our Sixth Form looking to apply to University. Over subsequent months, we will guide and advise students with all aspects of their University 10 applications. This will include advice on courses and institutions they should consider, support with the completion of their UCAS applications and guidance on how to complete their personal statements. In addition to this, we provide one on one support for all of our Sixth Formers throughout the entire application process. We ensure that all of our students in the Sixth Form receive all the information, support and guidance they need to make the right decision about life after the Sixth Form. The students that attended the University of Birmingham Open Day have been further inspired to continue working hard in the Sixth Form, so that they can gain the qualifications they need to achieve a place on their desired University course.
