National 5 This course provides opportunities for pupils to become scientifically literate citizens, while developing their literacy and numeracy skills. It will also develop pupils’ investigative and experimental skills in a physics context. In addition, pupils will be able to develop a lifelong interest in physics and will recognise the impact physics makes on their lives, the lives of others, the environment, and on society. We would recommend this course to students who have passed a National 4 course in Physics. Course Structure and Conditions of Award National 4 Course Structure This course has four compulsory units. Space In this unit, pupils will explore concepts, appropriate to this level, relevant to study of the solar system and its exploration, while developing skills in investigation, experiment and analysis.
