Tr. Ashvin Kumar, Area 7 Chairman (Elect)
AREA 7 TEXT
“Thalaivar” in Tamil means Leader
The Text is for the incoming leaders of the Area and keeping this
in mind the event for Area 7 was named so. The logo was aptly
designed to include both the name Area 7 and the Thalaivars.
Curt 186 was the host of the event and the convenors were Tr.
Rahul and Tr. Lucky lead by chairman Tr. Mohan. The LAPD team Tr.
Manoj and Tr. Pradeep joined the hosting team in planning and
organising the event.
Incoming Ac Ashvin had a few requests for the hosting team. The
venue should be centric to all tables, a resort exclusive only for the
participants and not in the centre of the city. Keeping this in mind
the host table chose the “My village” at Anaikatti by the reserve
forests of the western ghats and just an hour drive from
coimbatore. The best part that no phones work in the resort which
means no distractions ! The venue was ideal with a beautiful
village set up, big courtyards with a nice lawns, farm animals
strolling around the property. Amazing scenery with the hills in the
background, luxury rooms, tents and with an beautiful pool
overlooking the hills.
In the run up to the event the Whats app group was all filled with
activity, intro of area board with Tablers posting selfies, quotes on
leaderships, it was fun.
June 16th - 10.05 am - 3 participants had arrived. Tables had to
travel anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours to reach the venue. At
11.15 am 69 participants out of the 75 on the board were in the
conference room. A record 92 % . All wearing dark blue t shirts
sporting the Thalaivars logo. It was an amazing setup.
With a thrilling opening video - the participants were set for a
thrilling ride.
The stage was set for a grand show and then walk in the stalwarts
of training in Round table India- Sq. Leg Naren Agarwal, Sq. Leg
Sanjay Kondass, Sq. Leg Vinay Kumar, Tr. Kamlesh and the chief
guest was Sq. Leg Ilango fondly called Jangs - past president RTI
and Chairman RTIF.
The lighting of the kuthuvilaku was followed by chief guest Jangs
address. His powerful and motivational speech set the tone of the
program. It was during his tenure as National president that Text
was introduced to RTI.
Incoming AC Ashvin gave a wonderful speech on his vision and
plans. A video on leadership with quotes from some of the
greatest legends and its relevance to tabling made an impact on
the audience. The chairman, secretaries and convenors were
called and recognised on stage. The Ac stressed on the point that
all the participants in the room were going to lead Area 7 and they
have just 365 days to make every moment count.
The trainers then took over and the participants had a wonderful
days session with lots of interactive sessions, planning, learning
and exploring ! The setup was fantastic for the evening party, the
ambience was like a perfect, the weather and the lighting in the
courtyard like a village festival. The hosts Curt 186 manned the bar
and ensured the participants had a great time. The party wound
up at 3 am with singing skills of the Tablers coming to the fore.
Sunday morning - the breakfast was again traditional style on the
banana leaf. Sunday’s session saw a host of convenors sharing
their plans . Tr. Vishnu of 31, Tr. Anand of 101, Tr. Praveen of 20 , Tr.
Pravin of ERT 98 and wonderful exchange of ideas actively from
the Participants.
The session came to a conclusion with the head board presenting
each participant with a personalised folder carrying the participant
name, a certificate and a group photo inserted inside.
The fun wasn’t over yet. With the host table deciding to treat the
participants with beer and biryani for the Sunday.
Overall it was a memorable weekend where the 26th board of
Area 7 came together for some great bonding, learning and to
create memories for life.
