All-West Region Selections: Haley McFarlane
Season Recap: Montana State Billings had the biggest turnaround of any GNAC team this season, improving
by five matches and jumping from fifth to second in the conference standings.
Going 5-1-1 in their first seven matches and ending the season winning five in a row, the Yellowjackets
earned a two seed in the GNAC championship tournament while also earning head coach Wojtek Krakowiak
the co-Coach of the Year honor.
Even though the Yellowjackets didn’t lose to SPU in the regular
season, the eventual tournament champions knocked the
Yellowjackets out of the championship.
MSUB was statistically the second best defensive team in the
conference behind Western Washington. They ranked second
in goals allowed, goals-against average and tied for second in
shutouts.
Haley McFarlane led a defensive unit for MSUB that
allowed only 10 goals in conference play.
The defensive unit, consisting of three seniors and two
sophomores, played all 1,590 minutes on the season. The 12 goals this group surrendered were tied for the
lowest goals allowed by an MSUB team since it joined the GNAC.
MSUB’s defense wasn’t solely what carried it to the tournament though. The Yellowjackets ranked third in
the conference in points and goals led by junior forward Alisa Sagdahl’s seven scores.

Season Recap: Déjà vu. The 2014 Seattle Pacific Falcons
repeated almost an identical season this year as it did in
2013.
Finishing 10-4 and in third place ending the GNAC season in
2013, this year’s Falcons produced a 9-3-2 record and came
up with the three seed in the conference championship
tournament. The Falcons even won the GNAC tournament
crown in the same fashion as the previous year, beating top
seeded Western Washington on penalty kicks.
Isabel Farrell was named the GNAC Newcomer and
Player of the Year.
