ourteen years ago, Gwen Inglis
was on her way to achieving
her dream. She was appointed
as a Marriage Celebrant. For
as long as Gwen could remember, she
wanted to be a Marriage Celebrant.
During her growing years, if the family
drove past a church and there was
a wedding in progress, Gwen would
make her long-suffering Dad, pull the
car over and then he would wait ever
so patiently, until the bride and groom
emerged from the church, so that Gwen
could get her “wedding fix”. I wanted to
be a part of making the wedding day for
the bride and groom so special.
There was one small problem. When
she was old enough to become a
marriage celebrant, she hit a brick wall.
Like 75 per cent of the population, she
was terrified of speaking in public.
