Q In January at the Politics in the pub, during question time I asked Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull if he thought that taxing sanitary items was right. He replied with a very typical political answer. It wasn’t good enough. From there we lodged a federal petition, we required 100000 signatures in 30 days and we got 104000, this is now Australia’s most signed online petition. We could’ve done a change.org and got another 400000 signatures but it wasn’t going to be heard in Parliament which is why we chose the federal petition. I have been to every politician that would listen to me. We need bi partisan support. Its about speaking out and getting everyone to send a message to their local, state and federal politician to support this movement. Hopefully we will one day not be wasting our time and breath on not trying to abolish this sexist and archaic tax.
