I JOINED WOMEN’S
NETWORK AUSTRALIA IN
2002, IT WAS ACTUALLY
MY SAVING GRACE.

Q9. I think that cements even further what a network
means to you and how important it is. This is not just
a way to make money for you; it’s actually deeper
than that because you really do know the power of
what a tribe can do and how it can get you through.
Not to just survive but to thrive!
So true! I was aware of the network in the early
2000’s and yes, I joined Women’s Network
Australia in 2002. Whilst I may have been a
member off and on since that time, it survived
other networks that popped up, and it always
provided quality networking. It was actually my
saving grace. In 2011, I started to be a regular at the
events, and even though the speaker at times might
not be of relevance for me, I would attend to connect
with the other members. I met so many people there
who became my friends – and they still are today.
I would like to take time to recognise the
incredible work Lynette Palmen AM has done in
establishing this amazing network for women in
business. Back in 1990 there wasn’t anything like
it available to Women In Business – they were all
men’s clubs. Lynette was instrumental in being a
voice and advocate for women in business - it has
evolved over the years. But the strong foundations
have led WNA to be the longest running national
membership based business. So thank you Lynette.
Like the guy who owns Gillette, I loved it so much
that I bought the business. I have taken it and given
it a bit of a shake. I got a brand strategist to help
with the new look and the brand.
