During her high school days , she was awarded the highest accolade in both the academic and sporting arena , by being presented with DUX of the school and all-round sportswoman of the year . In 1992 Natalie pursued university studies in the medical field and captained the Australian Indoor Junior Volleyball Team . Presented with the opportunity of Olympic Glory , she moved across to the beach discipline in 1994 . 1996 was a successful year for Natalie , winning a silver medal at the World Championships in Brazil and making Australian history with the first ever Olympic bronze medal for the sport in Atlanta .

After going their separate ways , Natalie and Kerri Pottharst came back together to realise their dream and win gold on Bondi Beach , against all odds , overcoming an aggressive pair of Brazilians . London 2012 was Natalie ’ s fifth consecutive Olympics , before she retired . And what did she do in Rio 2016 ? Why of course she took on the role as Australia ’ s official athlete consultant or as she would say “ Agony Aunt ”

We caught up with the amazingly talented Natalie Cook and asked her a few questions . She is one great lady and she spoke from the heart . She wants to give back , encourage women to dip their toe in the water ( or the sand ) and celebrate the wins . So what makes her tick ?
