In a fast paced world , where everything is quickly becoming less and less human and more and more online ; companies are commonly engaging human like chat bots and interactive knowledge bases that customers can turn to find the answer on their own . Due to this , companies have lost and are losing many opportunities to interact with their customers in human speak .
Losing this human aspect , may be easy for your business ; but , this does not always mean it is easy for your customers . In order to keep customers , they need to trust and like you ; and we all know the importance of customer retention . People very rarely rave about a product , they rave about the service they received when purchasing that product . Your product should be a trophy of your exceptional customer service .
So , how exactly do you provide exceptional and amazing customer service ? In simple terms , just be a human !
BE ENGAGED Get back to basics and start a conversation . Ask questions , seek out the problem and find out how you can genuinely help . Be prepared to go above and beyond .
BE HELPFUL Stop seeing every customer as a dollar sign . There is a time in every business where a customer becomes a loss leader . Data analysts will tell you this isn ’ t good BUT a customer you help above and beyond is worth more in the long term than your quick cash burn and churn . Shift your mindset to “ what can I do to help ?” over “ how much money can I make ?” This is the type of business that money can ’ t buy .
BE COACHED Engage a business coach , someone who will tell you the TRUTH . It ’ s all too easy to be surrounded by ‘ yes men ’, you need someone who will tell you the cold hard truths about your business . It ’ s the simple adjustments that may just create quantum leaps in your business .
BE DISRUPTIVE Follow out of the box thinkers ! Challenge the norm .
BE COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE Engage the mantra- my business will not sell shit products or give shit service .
BE HORRIFIED When things go wrong , put yourself in your customers shoes . Forget about standard business practices and procedures and think about how you would like to be treated . Show you care .
BE HUMAN ! Remember , nobody likes to be sold to , but everybody likes to be helped .
If you ’ re struggling getting traction in your current business , the answer may be much closer to home than you think . Sometimes the big ideas will cause you more problems . Keep it simple . Keep it human .
