WHAT SKILLS WOULD
YOU SAY ARE CRUCIAL TO
SUCCESS?
Tristan Fahey
RUBIFRESH
“By thinking like a corporate and embracing the
nimbleness of a small business, she discovered she
had a unique approach that could set her brand
apart.”
T
ristan Fahey initially
launched Rubifresh as a
sideline to her successful
brand consulting
business. It soon became obvious
that 24 years of working with
senior management teams on
some of their critical brand
challenges had equipped her with
a different set of rules.
WHY DID YOU WANT
TO START YOUR OWN
BUSINESS?
I turned 40yrs old, had my
first baby 2 months later, and
was getting no sleep!! I knew
I needed to take better care of
my skin as I was showing major
signs of aging. I really felt at
a crossroad about whether to
succumb to society’s pressure
(i.e cosmetic procedures) or take
the natural path to aging, which
better fitted my life philosophy.
I chose the latter, and was so
fascinated that I ended up getting
trained up as a formulator. I
spent 2 years creating a range
of luxurious products, and
launched Rubifresh! Last year,
22
Women’s Network Magazine
five years into the Rubifresh
journey, we undertook a major
rebrand. We completed this
rebrand mid-2017, our social
engagement grew massively, and
our sales grew by 73% second half
of the year! We are now talking
to a number of major partners
including airlines, retailers and
spas, who share similar values
and can help us reach greater
numbers of women with our real
beauty message.
GIVE US YOUR CEO
WISDOM.
1. Surround yourself with people
you trust who can (and will)
challenge your point of view – it
leads to better outcomes, and
makes you a better manager (and
person).
2. Remain authentic to yourself &
your values, you cannot succeed
if you are trying to walk in
someone else’s shoes. Let’s face
it, you have to look at yourself in
the mirror every day.
3. Keep sight of the big picture...
