MARIAN HOCKEY
PIPERS TRIP UP THE SABRES: On Thanksgiving weekend, Marian traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to
take on Hamline University in non-conference play. The Sabres jumped out to a two-goal lead, only
to have the Pipers come back and score the game-winner with a minute remaining in regulation.
Marian was unable to avoid the sweep on Saturday, falling 4-1.
SHOWDOWN WITH THE POINTERS: The only game this week for the Sabres is Tuesday night
against UW-Stevens Point. The Sabres hit the road for their fourth straight road game to take on
the sixth ranked Pointers. Allie Tanzer (4G-3A-7PTS) and Cassandra Salmen (3G-5A-8PTS) lead the
team on offense.
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR: Marian bids adieu to NCHA for the remainder of the 2013 calendar year.
The squad stands at 2-3 in the conference, with two wins against Finlandia and their three losses
coming at the hands of Adrian and Concordia Wis. The Sabres will resume conference play on
January 10 when the host St. Scholastica.
