STORYLINES MARIAN HOCKEY PIPERS TRIP UP THE SABRES: On Thanksgiving weekend, Marian traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to take on Hamline University in non-conference play. The Sabres jumped out to a two-goal lead, only to have the Pipers come back and score the game-winner with a minute remaining in regulation. Marian was unable to avoid the sweep on Saturday, falling 4-1. SHOWDOWN WITH THE POINTERS: The only game this week for the Sabres is Tuesday night against UW-Stevens Point. The Sabres hit the road for their fourth straight road game to take on the sixth ranked Pointers. Allie Tanzer (4G-3A-7PTS) and Cassandra Salmen (3G-5A-8PTS) lead the team on offense. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR: Marian bids adieu to NCHA for the remainder of the 2013 calendar year. The squad stands at 2-3 in the conference, with two wins against Finlandia and their three losses coming at the hands of Adrian and Concordia Wis.
