I can tell you that my today looks NOTHING like my yesterday. For starters, I have three kids, but I also have a great career where I make enough money to take care of my family and fund my business dreams. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment that is just enough room for my family of 4. I have a car that I don’t have to worry about someone repossessing or not starting in the morning.
My kids eat every day, they have clean clothes and are spoiled beyond belief. Well, they may have always been spoiled, but you get the point I’m trying to make. My life is unrecognizable in comparison to the ashes from which I once stood. I didn’t get to where I am by just wishing it, or just hoping things would change; I had to change, and I had to change my life.
The number one thing I’ve learned in this entire process is that the only way anyone can rise from the ashes and make something out of the debris that is their life is to change themselves. I’m not talking about changing your zip code, or rearranging your face or other body parts. I’m talking about digging deep, looking within and taking responsibility and accountability for your own mess.
