that mold are given a
separate version of rights.
Although I may get angry
as new conflicts against
equality occur, my goal is to
spread love and not hate.
You may feel my anger
emanate
through
each
word, but you will never hear
me request murders against
groups of people or even
seeking revenge upon them.
Rather, I try to find ways to
move through that issue
by progressing our actions
through love, hope, strength,
and faith.
Whether you consider
yourself a social activist or
just a social media follower,
you are responsible for your
words and actions. Not only
must you consider what you
say, write, draw, or dance,
you must also consider how
it will be interpreted. “You
have the responsibility to
engage, educate, inform,
and evoke change where
it is necessary,” Sylvester
said during the SBSLC.
Therefore, progress through
positivity. From this February
forward, focus on creating,
connecting, and inspiring
with your own positive
message. Let your legacy
resound long after your
heavenly body departs so
that you too can be a part
of our beautiful black history.
