2 A SHINY START: With their 78-63 win over the Stars, the Sabres snapped
a five-game skid in conference openers. Marian starts 1-0 in league play for
the first time since the 2007-08 season.
3 DOUBLE FIGURING IT OUT: Marian put three players in double figures
for the second time this season in the win on Saturday. Sarah Albert led the
way with 21 points, while Sarah Olewinski and Dani Huray added 19 and 15,
respectively. The other occurrence was an overtime loss at UW-Platteville.
4 THREE-POINT PROWESS: The Sabres entered the week ranked fourth in
the nation in three-pointers made per game (10.2). They trail national leader
North Central (11.8) by a slim margin.
5 NEW FACES: Marian welcomes nine newcomers (eight freshmen),
