Baby it’s Cold Outside: Winter Trend Watch
“Oh the weather outside is frightful” …. But winter fashions are so delightful! Prepare for your winter fabulousity
with the following hair, makeup, and fashion trends as seen
in winter preview runway shows including NY and Paris
Fashion Weeks.
Winter Manes
What better way to wash away the winter blues than with a
“new-do”? Prepare for winter by trying one of the following
hot styles of 2013:
POWER CUTS: All eyes were on Beyonce as she traded in her long
locks for a short, edgy look. Experiment with a similar look or opt
for a classic pixie cut or a short cut with heavy front (the look that
never gets old). Afraid to go too short? Opt for a razor-cut bob.
DARK STAINED LIPS: This season, paint your lips with plums, deep reds, and pinks. Tip: When wearing bold red lipstick, keep the rest of
your makeup simple.
CURLY GIRLS: Curls are in this winter. Whether they’re natural
coils, extensions, or roller set, let your curls go wild!
FASHION TRENDS
The Moto Jacket: It’s all about the moto jacket for Fall/Winter 2013. The moto jacket is no
longer just the leather, zipper-clad jacket reminiscent of Michael Jackson in Thriller. You
can now find them in sleek and classy-chic styles to fit almost any occasion.
FIERY HUES: Set your tresses on fire with bold red or auburn
colors. Red too bold for you? Add a few red highlights instead of all
over color.
HIGH BUNS & PONIES: High buns and ponies are perfect for adding a classic and sleek look to all textures and lengths of hair. Easy
to achieve with gel, a few hair pins, and a few extensions if needed.
SIDE BRAIDS: Popular since 2011, the side braid continues to be a
hit this winter. Add a side braid to a bun or a long flowy style to add
a playful flair.
WINTER-BEAT FACES
Make sure your face is “beat” this winter by stocking up on your eyeliners, eye shadows, and lip stains for the season’s hottest makeup trends:
DRAMATIC EYES: When it comes to eyes this season, go bold and dramatic. Experiment with heavy liner, bold colors, colored eyeliner, or
60s-inspired looks. Tip: Pair dramatic eyes with a simple neutral lip gloss.
MENSWEAR-INSPIRED: Add a chic, feminine twist to traditional men’s looks. Think
tailored suits, blazers and oxfords!
COLOR ALERT
MAKE ‘EM BLUSH: Dusty pink (also known as blush) is one of the hottest colors this
season, especially in coats.
MIX AND MATCH PATTERNS: Polka dots
and flowers? Mixing patterns is no longer
a fashion taboo! So whether you are a
beginner or advanced mixer, go ahead and
mix it up. Tip: Some patterns such as small
or light stripes or polka dots can work as a
solid.
You are now equipped with the
latest trends for your head to toe
winter look. So what are you waiting
for … Let’s get to shopping!!
