As a photographer and environmental activist, I photograph the world around me while leaving nature with no more than my footprints. The man-made impact on nature from polluted waters, trash left behind and single-use plastics are ever-present and demonstrate their destructive legacy. I’m often cleaning trash left behind by others. However, in my art, I seek to photograph what the untouched world looks like without showing the negativity. Perhaps it’s through positive reinforcement, viewers can identify and appreciate the natural beauty of Mother Nature and cherish her. In terms of subjects and composition, I am drawn to patterns and textures - sensory connectedness. The texture of natural elements draws me in - whether it’s a tree’s bark, leaves, a climbing vine - there is much to observe in even the smallest spaces in nature. While the entire scope of nature is beautiful, I treasure the details. ART pag e 26
