Hellenic (Greek) artist Magdalene Pougoura Digital Painting on processed photograph I was born in Xanthi, Greece but since 1978 I live and work in Thessaloniki. I have studied Marketing, Art & Design and Photography in Thessaloniki. I had a 25 years career as a Bank Executive while at the same time continued to pursue my special interests in photography, painting and crafting of jewelry. I participated in a lot of group art shows mainly organized by the Association of Employees of the National Bank of Greece with several distinctions in both painting and photograph. I am inspired by nature and through photograph and photo manipulation I process my artworks in order to convey a spur of the moment, a feeling, a mental state. My art utilizes symbolic representations, kept impressions and ethereal images. An altered state of reality is presented as I combine my inner psyche with imagery from the world around me. My goal is to offer a different perspective for ordinary images as a tribute to the wonder of cosmos and humanity.
