american artist bodil lund handcrafted original designs I started Bodil Jewelry in 2007, but my story as an artists begins much earlier, as a young girl living in Sweden. My mother was a weaver; my father, a photographer; my grandfather and uncle, painters. Their appreciation of light, texture and color were very much a part of my childhood and continue to inform my work as a jeweler today. For many years, my family would summer on the northern shores of Denmark. Nearly every day, my sister and I would play and explore along the beaches. The treasures we discovered could have filled our small cottage! By far our favorites were the sea glass and ancient amber washed ashore by the tide, and small stones shaped into hearts by the sea. My Heart Stones, and Sea Glass Collections find their origins here. The sea is my first love, travel my second. I have had the good fortune to spend time in some of the most beautiful locales - the Virgins Islands, Sanibel Island, and Hawaii among them. For many years, I operated my own travel agency and helped others find their paradise on earth. Now, I share my love of travel with my daughter, whose photographs inspire many of the micro mosaics contained in Aerial View Collection. Bodil Jewelry is simple, elegant, and intended to recall the wearer’s favorite beach or travel destination. There is a natural playfulness and joy in each handmade piece, expressing the wearer’s love of nature and wonder at the world’s great beauty. Bodil Jewelry currently offers the following collections at wholesale prices for select retailers. Heart Stones are pendants cast in solid wom en ART sterling silver. They are replicas of actual stones I have found by the sea. Each threedimensional Heart Stone bears nature’s unique design and the smooth, yet textured surface of stone. The Sea Glass Collection features rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces adorned with sea glass and sterling silver cast from hand-carved molds. This collection includes found glass, and reclaimed Depression and Carnival glass from the 1920’s and 1930’s. The Aerial View Collection captures enticing vistas my daughter and I have glimpsed during flight - sunlight on silvery lakes, thrilling cloudscapes, dappled plains, and starlit skies. Each pendant is composed of tiny, delicate seed beads, and pieces of shell, and set in airplane window shaped frames made of sterling silver. Believing in responsible consumption of natural resources, reclaimed sterling silver is used. All jewelry is made in the USA.
