I hope you’ll see the sea right beside me. It is my notion that we are of the sea. We are from the sea. We are the sea. You and me. We are the sea.” ~Brandi Fitzgerald Nature is a delicate, well planned balance of land and water. The wax and wane of the moon taking care of the world’s waters is not only crucial to that delicate balance but also imperative to sheer existence. We must learn at once, the imperative importance of respecting the waters to which our existence rests. It is the water that will forever hold my fascination. If I go too long, blinded by life’s monotony, without seeing the sea, there is a drought in my soul. I long for the sea. My art thrives when I’ve been to the water’s edge. My heart is in full joy at the faintest scent of the ocean breeze and my mind falls completely at peace. I will never for a day take for granted the simple luxuries the sea brings to me and It will never cease to amaze me that an estimated 37 percent of Americans have never even seen the ocean for themselves. ART I spent a summer out at sea photographing Atlantic Humpback whales in their natural habitat on The Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary. I spent three months in complete awe while photographing and observing the wild ocean blue. These images depict, in its truest form, the delicate balance on which our lives rely. wom en
