I loved observing the people living and working in the
Peruvian Amazon - how they acted, how they dressed,
how they communicated. I was intrigued by my inability
to match the images in my mind from school with the
actual people living here today. In schools, I believe, we
learn to categorize people when it truly is impossible.
With a region as large as the Peruvian Amazon there
are simply too many variants to have a single photo
that expresses the culture. Shattering (even my own
preconceived notions) is one of the many reasons I
enjoy traveling the world with my camera.
