canadian artist June Corstorphie paper art Something lost is found again! Papermaking is a labor intensive process but one with great rewards. I love recycling paper and other organic material and transforming it into art. Each piece starts its life as wet pulp. I upcycle (tear up colored paper), whiz it up in the blender with water to make a slurry. This goes into a vat. I dip my screen into the slurry and turn it out onto a surface with decorative objects. When the pulp dries it is ‘cast’ with designs. Fibers, metallics and ephemera mixed in with the pulp become embedded into the dried paper. It i
