After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting,
Jennie Kay Snyder exhibited her paintings at
regional, national, and international levels, winning
dozens of awards and gaining a solid following
among her peers and collectors.
During her 30-year career, Ms. Snyder has taught
drawing and painting to children and adults of all
ages, developed and implemented drawing programs
in California, Oregon, Texas and Pennsylvania and
has given workshops and painting demonstrations
throughout the West Coast. She designed and
painted theater sets in California and Oregon and
painted dozens of residential, commercial, and
municipal murals, faux finishes, and decorative
embellishments throughout the United States.
She has been represented by galleries in New
York City, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Portland
(Oregon), Austin, Texas and Warren, Pennsylvania,
where she grew up. She is a featured artist in the
watercolor book Splash 4 and her work has been
favorably reviewed in the LA Times, Ventura County
Star, New York City’s Artspeak and some obscure,
now-obsolete publication from deep within the
bowels of SoHo. She began designing and making
one-of-a-kind chandeliers and light fixtures in 2010,
when she bought her first home. Her work is included
in private and corporate collections throughout the
world.
She resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where
she is currently an adjunct Professor of Painting
and Drawing, a resident artist with the Pennsylvania
Council on the Arts, and owner of her online shop,
Queen Décor.
