american artist jennie kay snyder handmade light fixtures After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, Jennie Kay Snyder exhibited her paintings at regional, national, and international levels, winning dozens of awards and gaining a solid following among her peers and collectors. During her 30-year career, Ms. Snyder has taught drawing and painting to children and adults of all ages, developed and implemented drawing programs in California, Oregon, Texas and Pennsylvania and has given workshops and painting demonstrations throughout the West Coast. She designed and painted theater sets in California and Oregon and painted dozens of residential, commercial, and municipal murals, faux finishes, and decorative embellishments throughout the United States. She has been represented by galleries in New York City, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Portland (Oregon), Austin, Texas and Warren, Pennsylvania, where she grew up. She is a featured artist in the watercolor book Splash 4 and her work has been favorably reviewed in the LA Times, Ventura County Star, New York City’s Artspeak and some obscure, now-obsolete publication from deep within the bowels of SoHo. She began designing and making one-of-a-kind chandeliers and light fixtures in 2010, when she bought her first home. Her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout the world. She resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she is currently an adjunct Professor of Painting and Drawing, a resident artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and owner of her online shop, Queen Décor. wom en ART page 29
