israeli artist Edna Piorko ceramic sculpting I was born and raised in a hard working family at the north district of Israel. I grew up thinking responsibly and productively about how should live my life and become a responsible and an independent adult. So I went to the University of Haifa, graduated and earned my masters in social work and then, for 20 years, I worked as a social worker in men’s prison. In time I felt I needed a change, having a strong urge for creation. Then, I happened to be in my son’s sculpture class. From the moment my hands met clay, a special love story began. Creating in clay leads me to inner peace, and unspeakable happiness and joy. wom en ART page 19
