ISRAELI ARTIST RACHEL NADLER CERAMIC DESIGN
i am a ceramic designer from Israel.
I work out of a small studio in my home. I use stoneware and translucent porcelain to create unique lighting designs and decorative objects. My inspiration is a synthesis of traditional handmade crafts such as knitting and lace making with contemporary design which emphasizes clean lines and minimalism. I have developed different techniques in order to allow light and shadow to play central roles in my designs. I especially like to work with porcelain. The translucency of the porcelain creates a special, warm effect when light penetrates the thin walls of the porcelain.
As a designer I strive to make designs that are both beautiful and functional. Having an online shop allows me to reach people in faraway places and offer unique and affordable handmade lighting designs. It excites me to know that my lights become part of people’ s lives all over the world.
