As a lifelong artist
I have worked in a wide variety of media and enjoyed each for its singular properties. The variety keeps me learning and what I learn from each medium teaches me something for all the others. Several years ago I was offered some encaustic supplies, giving me the opportunity to try a medium about which I was only vaguely aware. It was love at first melt. With encaustic one can build texture, etch, transfer, carve and scrape, or just lay down wonderfully translucent color. The end result begs to be touched and smells divine. While it will never be my only medium, it’ s a permanent part of the studio.
