ART wom argentine-taiwanese artist en shaolan sung oil painting, watercolor & typography art Born in Taiwan, raised in Buenos Aires and now in New York, Shaolan had her first contact with fine art in her early 20’s, joining a neighborhood workshop run by artist Fabiana Inglieri. She did oil painting and sculpting as a hobby for six years in that place where children to senior citizens could freely choose what to do for the two-hour session. Years later she took short courses in oil painting, sculpture with Jefford Horrigan, metalwork, moldmaking and casting at Central St. Martins School of Art & Design in London. Her sculpture Baby Tree was shown on Argentina TV program Manos a la Obra in September 1995. She took a summer drawing class at The Art Students League of New York in 2003. After a decade without making art, she is back in full swing. In February 2013 she started sharing a multidiscipline work divided in seven areas of expression on Facebook. This art page, called SeptArt, is her creative diary where she posts all the activities she loves doing. She has two new Etsy shops, SeptArtPrints and ShaolanStudio, where you can find oil painting gicleé prints, typography art and original watercolors. “For the time being, I only know that art represents endless possibilities, making it a playground, and that each work carries a piece of my soul.” - Shaolan etsy facebook
