Move Management & Professional Organizing
Concierge, Errand & Task Management
As a provider of ‘prime move management,’ assisting elders who are leaving their
long-time homes, the element of orchestration is key. Even the most well thought
out process cannot preclude the myriad of last-minute surprises, interruptions and
emergencies that could occur during a move. The ability to ‘turn on a dime’ and
re-schedule movers, auctioneers, or other service providers is one of Lady Valet’s
skills that results in the dovetailing of client’s needs.
By entrusting Lady Valet to coordinate the transition to their new home—be it in a seniors’ community,
independent or assisted living, or long-term care—elders are relieved of stressful and time-consuming
chores while maintaining an active voice through this emotional decision-making process. This also offers a
respite to adult children knowing that the downsizing and relocation of their parent(s) is being coordinated
by compassionate and experienced persons. As a baby boomer and member of the sandwich generation, I
bring my own challenges and solutions for parent care to the table.
Relocations may sometimes be complicated by chronic disorganization, but by no means is this limited to
any age group or demographic.
More widely known as “hoarding,” the Institute of Challenging Disorganization (ICD), defines chronic
disorganization as having a “history of disorganization in which self-help efforts to change have failed, an
undermining of current quality of life due to disorganization, and the expectation of future disorganization.”
Chronic disorganization (CD) can have many causes: neurological, emotional, environmental, and physical
are only a few. Understanding the root of the symptoms is key to developing effective processes to promote
change. A professional organizer trained in dealing with CD will often work with a therapist to affect
long-term solutions. These ‘collaborative therapy teams’ maintain the highest ethical standards, including
confidentiality and ongoing communication.
Chronically disorganized individuals often are challenged with procrastination, which is a habit. Change
is often not easy, and people change only if they are ready—having found the desire and determination,
along with a compassionate support system.
Lady Valet Home Services is committed to providing effective time and task solutions for
individuals and families. With the tag line “minding your ‘busyness’” and a claim that “services
are limited only by imagination, while adhering to all things legal, moral and ethical,” Lady Valet
Home Services is considered the all-encompassing source for home service requirements.
Included are house-sitting, transportation, accompanying to appointments, and errand services.
