We started looking through the food menu and we both noticed how well priced everything is. The menu had an American / Mexican theme too it which is perfect for myself and Paul, there was certainly a good variety on offer along with gluten free options, locally sourced curries from Mr. Daves and plenty of vegetarian options too. The range of light bites and starters was fantastic, so we were delighted when we noticed you could choose 4 for just £12.50 and opted for the Casino 36 nachos and dips, chicken and chorizo quesadillas, southern fried chicken strips with a BBQ dip and grilled halloumi with sweet chilli dip. Arriving as two platters we were shocked at the portion sizes, you couldn’t even buy all the ingredients for £12.50. The nachos were proper homemade nachos with melted cheese and a full range of dips, they were so delicious. The halloumi was thick grilled slices on a bed of mixed leaves and was perfect with or without the dip. The large quesadilla was cut into four quarters filled with chicken, tasty chorizo and held together with melted cheese, it was simply fantastic, probably our favourite and then crunchy southern fried strips that went so well with the BBQ sauce. We couldn’t fault a thing, and both agreed we would be back for this more often, music to Pauls ears with the football season back in full flow. After the delicious starters we were very excited to receive our main courses which arrived shortly after. For my main I had opted for the 3-burger slider with chips and Casino 36 chilli slaw. Again, with all the burgers sounding so amazing I was happy to see the sized down slider menu, 3 for £10 or 5 for £15. I chose the cheese and bacon beef burger, the chorizo and mozzarella chicken burger (beef burger was an option) and the pulled pork and slaw burger. They all looked incredible, I started with the chorizo and mozzarella chicken burger and I’d certainly started with the best, fresh juicy chicken with salad and its topping, I will be coming back for the full version of this. The pulled pork burger was also very tasty and juicy with the bacon and cheese beef burger again being served with salad and the burger being very meaty, it was a burger-lovers feast and a great way to sample the different burgers for variety or, so you know your favourite to order the full size in future. Paul had chosen the Casino 36 jerk chicken with rice which we were told was a clear favourite, and we could understand why. Half a chicken chargrilled and marinated in jerk spices, a pot of jerk sauce, spicy chilli sauce and wholegrain rice. Paul was in his element and managed to find room for every single mouthful. The chicken was super succulent and tasted superb, all ingredients came together to make this a terrific dish, again priced at £8, this was fresh and faultless. By this time we had got so into our food we had even forgotten about the forthcoming boxing match, the sports bar was starting to fill and the atmosphere was buzzing, we were having a really great night with great food and with this in mind it only felt right to order the sharing dessert platter for £7, a selection off all the desserts they offer with ice cream a salted caramel sauce and a thick chocolate sauce that was simply divine. Warm mini chocolate brownies, mini lemon and chocolate cheesecakes, salted caramel profiteroles and caramel filled mini churros. It certainly did finish off our food feast perfectly. Needing to walk off the food and an hour till the fight, we decided to pop downstairs and have a quick go on the gambling machines, being complete amateurs and expecting fruit machines we joked at how even fruit machines had evolved, you could pick your game, your bet, lines everything, it was really good fun and we kept it sensible with just playing £10 each. As we walked back up to the sports bar we noticed another staircase leading up to the Sky Smoking Lounge, being nosey we had to take a look, it has HD TVs, Slot machines, an Astroturf floor and a great view over Wolverhampton. We walked back down and thankfully had a lovely sofa to ourselves whilst we watched the fight. Just before I left I asked one of the managers, Zoe where the champagne lounge was as I hadn’t come across it but had seen it advertised, she took us downstairs and showed us the most stunning and stylish room available to hire for private functions, business or pleasure, you don’t need to enter the casino to access this room either, it almost made me want to have a party! Our entire evening had been amazing, you could be anywhere in the world when you are inside Casino 36, no bad vibes just fun, sports and delicious food! Girls, maybe watching the football isn’t so bad after all! Reviewed by Sarah and Paul Cole @Casino36Wolverhampton
