If you’re up for a good ol’ girly cry from some lame (but terribly
good) classic flick, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve
made a quaint little timeline of the top five old movies that will
never go bad.
Singin’ in the Rain (1952)
When a silent film production company decide to make the
transition to sound, they encounter some difficulties-some
have names, and terrible voices called Lina Lamont. This
movie just gives off positive vibes that make me want to
sing all day every day! The best thing is the pure talent
these actors have: dancing, singing, acting, which is just
unheard of these days. Singin’ in the Rain is a true gem!
Psycho (1960)
When a young woman steals $40,000 from her employer,
she finds herself in deeper trouble than she imagined
when she stumbles upon a remote motel… In its day
Psycho was classed as a full-scale horror/thriller, but
nowadays it’s more like a comedy-but still a little creepy.
A classic lame horror, that is still worth a watch to see all
that shower-action!
Greece (1978)
Sandy and Danny had a fabulous summer romance
together, but when they discover they are at the same
school they realise their differences. This heart-warming
musical will get your lips moving to the lyrics, and
perhaps questioning the arguably terrible morals this film
provides about changing for a boy. Oh well, we can’t take
a movie with a flying car in it too seriously, now, can we?
The Blue Lagoon (1980)
When Emmaline and Richard are marooned on a tropical
island as young children, they are left without adult
restrictions and rules. Nature takes place, and the two fall
in love as they grow older. Is it possible to hate this
movie? We think not. The Blue Lagoon is a simple,
blissful experience that will leave your heart both soaring
and crying at the same time.
Dirty Dancing (1987)
Baby’s vacation is going less than average until she
discovers the intriguing late-night world of “dirty dancing”,
and Johnny. Baby learns how to dance like a pro, and
becomes Johnny’s partner for a dance competition. Why
wouldn’t you give yourself the excuse of watching Patrick
Swayze…sway? Dirty Dancing is a lovely movie with a
good old happy ending. That’s what we like to hear!
