TRAINING My team is made up of fellow White Oaks team members and their spouses. Nice people, most of the time. There’s Bob from finance and his friend Sue, also an accountant. They are quite precise about things and I do believe were a big influence Regular This challenge started with measurements, a quick fitness test and a weigh-in. The idea is to work out four times a week to gain points, and then toss in additional program elements like attending seminars, taking racquet lessons but he definitely berated me and his workout partner Wes. poor, poor innocent Wes! Yes, Ed Lepp. I said berated and I’m not changing it. and participating in member events to gain more points. To help us all on our journey, each team is assigned a personal trainer. We will discuss our trainer shortly… Tina, Jenny and I worked out with the trainer at other times and then the last couple, Bob and Sue set an entirely different schedule! very hard to get all of us together and we all had very different goals. Okay… mostly everyone’s goals were to lose weight, feel great and be fitter. Ed Lepp and Wes from our team worked out together with the trainer. ALMOST NO ONE PAYS HIM TO HARDLY WORK OUT WITH THEM in voting against my suggestion of team name – The cheaters. That’s what I heard anyway. There’s Jenny from the Spa who doesn’t even need to work out because she’s gorgeous but she’s in it because she likes to buy new gym outfits. Tina from Sales and her lovely husband Wes, who both work busy full time jobs and have three kids under five (one five year-old big brother and then three year-old twins!). I think we can all agree that these two just want to get out of the house. And last but not least my husband Ed Lepp. Yes, we call him his full name, no one knows why. Ed Lepp. Not Ed. Not Edward. Definitely never Eddie. 62 | whiteoaksclub.com | spring 2016 We appointed my darling husband Ed Lepp our team leader. Honestly, we figured his job was to get the ratings, and send us emails reminding us of upcoming seminars and events. What a sucker he was, taking this admin job on! Well… turns out Ed Lepp got a bit more into it than we’d anticipated. He became a tad competitive and berated the group weekly! Okay… maybe he encouraged the group My goal was just to get through it and survive. I hate working out. I hate being sweaty. Blech…I think sweating is the body’s way of saying “Hey lady, you’re overheating here and you’re starting to leak! You are exploding slowly. Stop what you’re doing immediately and lie down.” But I’m told that is utterly wrong.
