5 NEW WAYS TO INCREASE By Aileen Sheron YOUR BUSINESS REVENUE I t’s not easy to come up with creative ways to make more money, so here are five options to consider. Adding any one of these products/ services could not only bolster the bottom line, but also enhance the training experience and increase your members’ overall club satisfaction. 1 Corporate Programming - This is a great way to market your facility outside your walls by offering personal training or group classes to companies or specialty markets in your area. Companies are looking for ways to enhance the lives and wellbeing of their employees, while reducing health costs and improving 28 productivity in the process. Specialty training can be customised for a particular group. For example, you could offer Office Yoga, a 30-minute Lunch Stretch, or Senior Seated Exercise. Find prospects outside traditional fitness locations such as convention centres, hospitals, places of worship, senior living facilities, golf and tennis clubs, shopping malls, hotels, etc. Why not have your gym benefit from building a reputation as the go to fitness experts in your area? This type of specialty training is also a fantastic opportunity to get to know and serve your community. 2 Express personal training - Consider offering your members shorted 15- or 30-minute personal training sessions. Providing short, impactful workouts may be perfect for busy individuals, for those intimidated by a full hour session, or for people looking to add variety to their workouts and sample something different. Offer specialty sessions such as stretching, mobility, or myofascial release. These types of programs are under-exploited by clubs, and have great potential for growth. These formats keep people functioning properly, reduce pain, and assist with recovery. With all the intense training offered in the industry, this can really be a game changer for your clients. It is essential that the trainers are qualified and have a specialty or continuing education in stretching techniques. promote their practice. A lecture series is a great way to charge for special events that are beneficial for all involved. Do your homework before booking the professional. It can also provide useful before- and-after data to be used for marketing purposes. You can allow both members and non-members to participate at varying rates. Include a nutritionist, personal trainers and special classes created specifically for weight loss to increase your success rates. Try reaching prospects through targeted social media marketing. For example, focus on local businesspeople in the area or new moms . Special Speakers & Lectures Series - Nothing is more effective in bringing people together than hosting an in-house event to impart important, cutting edge information. Many people are confused about diets, nutritional supplements, environmental health, holistic medical practices, etc. It is not difficult to find a speaker who would be willing to share information in exchange for the opportunity to meet with your clientele and/or WHAT’S NEW IN FITNESS - AUTUMN 2019 4 5 Event Training - There are so many fun and interesting competitions and events offered to fitness enthusiasts these days, like Spartan and Mud Runs, cycling, combo competitions, relays, endurance races, etc. Although many people may be interested in participating in a specific event, they might not know how to start, to train, or what it takes just to participate in such an experience. This can be a great opportunity to create a training program that will help guide members through the entire process.
