Journey Comfort Guitar Journey Instruments are best known for their collapsible wood and carbon fiber travel guitars. But their latest series is the new Comfort Series of ergonomic instruments. They currently have three models in the line, the Grand Auditorium, and the Dreadnought in Natural or Amber Burst( as reviewed). These are non-collapsible instruments with highly sought after features like Journey’ s wedged body design and the arm bevel. The model as reviewed has a torrefied Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides. The bridge is made of Ebony wood along with the bridge pins and fretboard. Neck width at the nut is 1 11 / 16 with a bone nut and saddle. The Journey Comfort Amber Burst Dread has a 25.5 scale, 20 total frets and the neck joins the body at the 14 th fret. Journey 22:1 mini gold tuners look classy and tune appropriately. The instrument features MOP logo and fret markers with Curly Maple edge binding. The neck has a low-c profile with a dual action truss rod and the entire finish glossy except for the neck which is matte finish. Journey under saddle passive German piezo pickup handles the amplification with a volume control inside the sound hole. The Journey Comfort Amber Burst is a very comfortable easy to play guitar that also projects extremely well thanks to the wedged body shape. Priced at $ 949.99 this is an incredibly easy to play guitar that fits your body contours. It also includes a gig bag for the under $ 1,000 price tag! The squared off headstock gives it a vintage acoustic guitar vibe too. www. journeyinstruments. com
DigiTech MonoNeon Whammy pedal You might not have heard of the artist MonoNeon, an incredible experimental bass player pushing the sonic boundaries, but you heard of the DigiTech Whammy pedal and possibly owned one. The MonoNeon signature model takes the popular basic model and sups it up a lot. Including Hypersonic mode which allows a 3-octace pitch change and Octave Blender so that you can blend tonal octaves together as never before. Standard DigiTech Whammy features are still on the pedal such as harmony settings, built-in expression pedal, classic or chord switch, harmony LEDS and Whammy LEDS. Other unique features, encase
you hadn’ t noticed from the pictures, it has a Neon Orange and Yellow finish that glows on black light stage lights. A Neon Green LED light next to the footswitch signifies that your DigiTech Mono Neon Whammy pedal is engaged and ready to play. I have owned and played many of the DigiTech Whammy pedals over the years, but this is by far the most robust model they have ever created. Achieve standard chord and note dives as if you have a tremolo bridge on your bass or guitar. But the sound options with the increased Octave Blender, Hypersonic and MIDI capability make this a powerful sonic tool for live performances and recording. Priced at $ 316 the DigiTech MonoNeon Whammy pedal is fun to play, expressive and the more you play it the more uses you will find for it! Accessories include Gaff tape and a sharpie so you can personalize it also. www. digitech. com
