walk onto the plane with that and my guitar.
But also I love using my big analog board to get different flavors of things and to tweak some knobs. Analog will always have a place in my heart, but sometimes the job calls for something else and you need to bring the right tool.
[ WM ] Can you list a worship album or two, that inspire your own worship guitar playing?
[ Kevin ] It’ s the live 10,000 Reasons record that Matt Redman did. When I was in music college in 2011 my friend Patrick Mayberry and I drove to Atlanta to be in the crowd for this recording. I was blown away with the songs, the arrangements and how the guitars all stacked together. The parts that Bryan Brown, Tyler Burkum and Matt Podelsa played on that have forever shaped me. The other record is Live At The Tracking Room from One Sonic Society. Funny, but once again Pat and I were both in the audience for this record and we got to watch Stu G play some of the most beautifully arranged guitar parts I have ever heard.

[ WM ] You have a day job that is quite unusual – working A & R for Fender. Tell us how you got that job?
[ Kevin ] Ha! Well thank you! Wild but I found it on Linkedin and just applied for it. I am truly in shock that I was picked and humbled that I get to do this gig.
[ WM ] Tell us about some of the artists you work with?
[ Kevin ] I’ m totally going to dodge this question.( laughing) I’ ve learned since being in Nashville for over 15 years that someone will be on top of the world one week and then a tour gets canceled, and they are driving uber the next week to pay their bills. Everyone big or small is an artist and I’ m honored just to have friends to do life with no matter where they are in their careers.
[ WM ] Good answer! Any words of encouragement or advice for other worship team guitar players?
[ Kevin ] Be well diversified both in music and life skills. I’ ve gotten work playing music because I also can jump in on keys or bass or whatever. Knowing more than just your
