AUDIO Hector Lebron of New Life Corpus
[ WM ] Have you attended training conferences ? If so , tell us about them . class ” based on their position ( camera , audio , director , ProPresenter etc .).
[ WM ] Tell us about how you got started in the audio side of church ?
[ Hector Lebron ] I was 10 years old and was curious about playing the tapes and controlling the microphones in Kid ’ s church . I asked if I could learn , and the leaders said , “ Yes ”. From that point , I wanted to continue learning more and then kept bugging the head of the production department and he finally offered me a job at the age of 14 . I was finally in a payroll position and he then felt okay to tell me to go away . ( laughing ).
[ WM ] Who were your main sound mentors ?
[ Hector ] Don Lawrence , Cornerstone Church , Rusty Stevens , Cornerstone Church and YouTube .
[ Hector ] In production , I have attended a conference by Load Star to learn about rigging safely . I have also attended the Relate Conference by New Life Church in Arkansas . Lastly , to keep my heart in the understanding of worship , something I consider vital for anyone involved in church production , I have attended the Bethel Heaven Come Conference .
[ WM ] Do you train other members on your tech teams ? What is your approach to that ? How is your team structured with volunteer and paid staff ?
[ Hector ] I do train the team . I have a full-time assistant , a full-time young engineer , and an intern . Everyone else is volunteer based . We train based on where the person is serving .

For audio , we have the luxury of having stems ( we record the live worship team at every service ) that I can do a virtual sound check with , tied to the video from that Sunday and can play back and teach different areas of audio using our exact team and sound !
[ WM ] Do you do any audio work outside of the church ?
[ Hector ] I do , I volunteer at my kids ’ school as their production tech for all their plays , concerts , chapels , pep rallies , games etc . It ’ s been a great opportunity to stay connected with what my kids are up to .
I also will consult on occasion . I have been reached out to by old connections about how I approach things and help them over the phone , or even have traveled to some churches to give
