[WM] Worship Songwriter Buyer's Guide Studio Edition - #15 - 2026 | Page 77

Brandon Bee is from the Northwest, and we met about at least 15-20 years ago. I sold him a 1972 Gibson vintage acoustic that he has used quite a bit over the years and we became friends through that. He tours, writes songs and produces others – we both have a Calvary Chapel background, and he has served us at the Christian Musician Summit conference many times.

What brand of audio interface do you use? UA Apollo 8x, Apollo x, SSL Alpha Link( for 24 more I / O for outboard gear)
Universal Audio Apollo x8p Gen 2

I currently use 8 inputs for drums, 1 input, for Bass, 2 inputs for electric guitar, 2 inputs for synth( s), 1 input for Vocal mic, and 1 input for everything mic( acoustic, banjo, dobro, backing vocals, etc).
Do mostly produce your own music or record music for other people? I mostly produce and mix for others but also work on a few of my own projects
Are you set up to track / record live bands? I could record a whole band but I’ m mostly setup to record all of the instruments myself. When I record a whole band, I rent another studio for a few days
Do you use external mic pre’ s, compressors, etc. Yes. I have the Apollo, so I do use some of the pre’ s in the Apollo for drums and synth recording. But I have Neve, BAE, API, Trident, Avalon preamps to choose from.
Do you use an analog or digital patch bay? I have a Bittree patch bay, but I recently just plugged everything in with chain that works best for each instrument.
Is your studio console analog or digital? I am just using the DAW as my mixing board. But I mix hybrid. I have 5 or 6 chains that I run my my buses through.
What nearfield monitors( KRK, JBL, IK Multimedia) do you use? Adam a7s are my“ go-to” ones. I have multiple pair just in case one needs repair so that I am never without. I have been using them since they came out in 2006. I was going to upgrade recently, and I tried a few others from a much different price point and I realized that I am just so used to them
