D’ Addario Fret Cleaner & Buffer Contra Guitar- Holy Practice Bass
IK Multimedia ARC On-Ear for IEMs
Whether it is for my own instruments or friends and family instruments that need some TLC. I frequently find my cleaning and polishing frets that are oxidized, dirty or tarnished. D’ Addario has just released a Fret Cleaner & Buffer kit 3-pack. The package includes a plastic fret guard( with two sizes on the guard) and three of dual sided Fret Cleaners & Buffers. On side is more abrasive and is designed for no chemicals or creams needed cleaning, the opposite side is for polishing the fret when you are done. The Fret Cleaner & Buffer kit is only $ 14.99 and doesn’ t leave the mess or residue of steel wool and sandpaper or other abrasive chemicals and creams that require excessive elbow grease. While you’ re doing a restring is a great time to polish up those frets for the next service. www. daddario. com
In the past guitar players always got the cool practice instruments and amps but now Contra Guitar is working to fix this with their Holy Practice – travel silent bass guitar. They are made by hand in Latvia and are available in yellow, green, orange, pink and black and Right- or Left-handed versions. The maple body and neck are one piece with 14 frets, black hardware and tuners on the top of the body right in front of the bridge. There is even a thumb rest on upper bout like your standard bass guitar, and the scale length is 13.78. The ball ends of the bass strings go over the top of the headless bass and are secured with screws, and the straight end of the strings go through the body to engage with the tuners. The fun factor is that the Contra Guitars Holly Practice Bass can easily fit in your backpack or duffle bag for quick practice while you travel anywhere. Current models do not have electronics, but Contra Guitar does offer other instruments that have pickups and full electronics on their website. The company has also released the Holy Practice – travel silent 6 string guitar priced at $ 196.67. The Contra Guitar Holy Practice Bass is $ 229.07 and includes free shipping. Now bass players can practice anywhere any time with a Holy Practice travel silent bass and they are a great conversation piece too! www. contraguitar. shop
WM covered the IK ARC On-Ear system when it first released last year as a way for musicians, producers and artists to achieve studio quality sound with their headphones and earbuds. Now IK Multimedia has released the Version 1.5 ARC On-Ear that supports In-Ear Monitor systems. The latest update offers 50 of the most popular IEM models in the ARC On-Ear to hear the music the way it will sound on stage in live performance situations. As the majority of Praise Team and Worship musicians utilize IEMs on stage at church, now you can review music, tracks and other sound reinforcements at home or in studio before hitting the stage. This upgrade to ARC On-Ear also reduces acoustic variables that over the ear headphones have since the IEMs fit in the ear canal and are not affected by the outer ear. ARC delivers 20 virtual studio monitors and 15 multimedia playback systems to dial in the sound the way you want to hear it. ARC On-Ear goes for $ 199.99 and includes the ARC device, cables and a carrying case. Including IEM models by IK was a brilliant idea. www. ikmultimedia. com
