[ WM ] What is your main stage and songwriting guitar and / or keyboard you use ?
[ Luke Barry ] I am currently playing a McPherson Camrielle for songwriting and on stage . Across our locations , we are using Nord Stage 3 ’ s and 4 ’ s . All are incredible instruments .
[ WM ] What brand / model vocal microphone do you use on stage ? In your home studio ?
[ Luke ] On stage , we use Shure KSM9 ’ s and SM58 ’ s . I don ’ t have a home studio , but we often use Neumann TLM ’ s and Shure SM7B ’ s in a casual studio setting .
[ WM ] What pick-up system is on your guitar ?
[ Luke ] I ’ m embarrassed to say I ’ m not 100 % sure — but I believe my guitar is outfitted with an L . R . Baggs Element active electronic system .
[ WM ] What brand capo do you use ?
[ Luke ] I use a Kyser Quick-Change Capo .
[ WM ] What guitar strings do you prefer ?
[ Luke ] I use Elixir strings . I need to dial in the weight I like most and need to change my strings a lot more often !
[ WM ] Are you using a clip-on tuner ? A floor pedal tuner ? Which brand ?
[ Luke ] I use the KLIQ UberTuner clip-on tuner .
[ WM ] For In-Ear Monitors what brand are you using ?
[ Luke ] My in-ears are 64 Audio A4ts ( one black and one white !).
[ WM ] What do you use to capture song ideas down with ?
[ Luke ] Two iPhone apps : Voice Memos for audio ideas and Notes for lyrics and concepts .
[ WM ] What is a current Worship record you enjoy listening to right now ?
[ Luke ] I love Hillsong UNITED ’ s album , Are We There Yet ? I keep going back to the opening track : “ Days Like These ( TRUST U )”.
[ WM ] What is your current or upcoming music project ?
[ Luke ] VOUS Worship just released our new album , Always A Good Time , in March of this year !
[ WM ] What is the next piece of gear you would be excited to have ?
[ Luke ] I recently played electric guitar in one of our services and it renewed my itch for some guitar gear . I have my eye on the Line 6 Helix multi-effects processor . ( Haven ’ t told my wife yet .)
[ WM ] What advice do you have for our worship leaders , bandmates and tech teams reading this magazine ?
[ Luke ] The player is more important than the gear ! Never stop growing in what you do .
